Article Response Assignment
Write a one-page response to the article that you selected from the Walden Library. Precisely format your paper using the CON Writing Template provided in the Writing Resources tab including an introduction, body, and summary (conclusion).
As you reflect on the findings in your chosen article, consider how the findings compare to your own professional nursing experience with Magnet, or, if you have no personal experience with Magnet, your thoughts concerning Magnet:
- Paraphrase and integrate information from the article into paper.
- Consider factors or principles from the article that hold true for or resonate with you.
Utilize the Writing Resources tab where you will find support to guide you through the process of paraphrasing, and citing and referencing per APA. The Week 3 Assignment Rubric will keep you on track. Remember to use Grammarly to check your writing for errors before submitting your assignment.

Abstract:
Hospital characteristics, recruitment difficulties, quality of care, and organizational structure were topics of focus in a survey sent to CNEs of magnet and nonmagnet hospitals.Hospital characteristics were fairly similar in terms of size and demographics; however, magnet hospitals had higher JCAHO scores.Structural differences were noted to be significant in 3 areas: ‘the presence of a distinct department of nursing’, ‘the presence of a doctorally prepared nurse researcher’, and ‘the CNEs perception of control over nursing practice.’ANCC hospitals reported higher levels of support for ‘autonomy, control over practice, and nurse-physician collaboration.’The ANCC magnet program is a model for administrative practice, organizing nursing care, and an environment for nursing practice.’Management philosophy and practice, adherence to standards for improving quality of care, leadership of the CNE in supporting professional practice’, and attention to the diversity among patients, staff, and providers form the basis for this model.
