Case Study 1:
You are working with your partner so decide what case study you want to evaluate and post it on the discussion board. You both need to turn in a copy of the final Case Study. You can collaborate on the questions, but you will be responsible for your own work.
After reviewing Chapter 2 in the Public Health Ethics: Cases Spanning the Globe book – Essential Cases in the Development of Public Health Ethics (one of the assigned readings for Week 4), choose one of the cases presented and answer the following questions:
1. What public health problems, needs, and concerns are at issue?
2. What are appropriate public health goals in this context?
3. What is the source and scope of legal authority, if any, and which laws and regulations are relevant?
4. What are the relevant norms and claims of stakeholders in the situation and how strong or weighty are they?
5. Are there relevant precedent legal and ethical cases?
6. Which features of the social-cultural-historical context are relevant?
