Mini Case Studies
Write up to 450 words.
Write a short case study on one of the most impactful cyber security breaches from the past 12
months. Your case study should include:
• When did the breach occur?
• Who was the target?
• Was it a threat or attack? i.e. What cyber-attack techniques were used, i.e. Man-in-the Middle, XSS, phishing email, DDOS, Technical Hardware/Software Failures or Errors, etc.
• What was the likelihood level of this attack (i.e. what was the probability that a specific
vulnerability will be exploited)?
• What was the impact (consequences) of the breach?
• Who was responsible for the breach?
• What could have prevented or mitigated the consequences of the breach?
• Discuss the CIA model impact associated with it.
Here is some Guideline you need to follow:
Fonts, headings, paragraphs and tables
Make use of all of Microsoft Word’s styles: select a font that is pleasing to the eyes, use headings,
write full paragraphs and use colored tables. Your submission must be professional looking and at a
quality high-standard.
Sections, paragraphs, sentences and words
Structure your document intelligently: every sentence, paragraph and section must have a purpose
and be logically organized. Select words carefully, purposely and precisely. Avoid ambiguity and do
not overuse industry jargon!
Follow a set structure
Group similar points together in tables or under categories outlined by headings.
Citations
Cite all the external references that you may have copied or inspired yourself from.
