Instructions
Effects of COVID-19 on a Health Care Facility
Select the health care facility where you work or one you are familiar with and describe the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are not familiar with a health care facility, find a current health care worker and interview them in order to write this paper about their reflections. Provide specific examples when possible. At a minimum, your essay must describe the effects on the following:
- patients
- staff
- visitors
- leadership
More detailed elements to address in your reflection paper include the following:
- Describe supply chain and resource issues related to the pandemic.
- Illustrate health care facility design strategies relevant to the management of the COVID-19 pandemic response.
- Explore ways in which patients and visitors should be managed to ensure safety during the pandemic.
- Analyze the staffing crisis and psychological factors attributable to the pandemic.
- Summarize key leadership strategies to benefit staff during the pandemic response.
- Describe local, state, and federal agency’s response; recommendations; and any involvement or oversight of your chosen organization.
Outside resources are not required but may be used to describe or support what is happening at the facility you choose to highlight. If you use outside sources, APA Style and format should be applied. Your reflection paper must be at least two pages in length.
