Module 4 graded discussion:

In your view, should the U.S. Department of Homeland Security be legally able to monitor encrypted communication between American citizens on WhatsApp?  Why or why not?  Support you answer with at least two sources other than the course textbooks.

Describe what MASINT is.  Find an article that discusses a real-world situation with an adversary involving the actual or potential use of MASINT by the United States.  Provide an overall summary of the event. Describe how MASINT was (or could have been) useful for the United States in that situation.

 

Week 6 graded discussion:

This week’s assigned reading is Chapter 7 from the Five Disciplines Textbook.  The Chapter is about Intelligence Collections.  The Chapter covers Intelligence Collections at the Federal level, but does not speak to Intelligence Collections by the individual states.

In your view, should the states be allowed to form their own Intelligence agencies for the purpose of Intelligence Collection directed at American citizens within their own states?  Should the states be allowed to form their own Intelligence agencies for the purpose of Intelligence Collection directed at other states?

 

Week 7 graded discussion:

Deciding who is granted access to classified material is one of the most important parts of Intelligence Management.
