Due Date: 11:59 pm EST Sunday of Unit 1
Points: 100
Overview:
This section allows students to use the Framework for Ethical Decision Making and the
character, audience, message (CAM) model.
Instructions:
Using the Framework for Ethical Decision Making, describe coming to a decision on
whether to do this activity:
Downloading/streaming copyrighted content — books, music, movies, etc. — through
free, unauthorized sources. OR Plagiarizing another person’s work, school assignment,
etc. Provide a two to three sentence answer for each of the five questions in the
framework.
1. “Is the action legal?”
2. “Does the action comply with your company’s policies and guidelines?” In this case, it
may be personal guidelines. Explain why it does or does not.
3. “Who will be affected by your decision and how?” Identify at least two types of
stakeholders.
4. “Does the action comply with the company values?” In this case, it may be personal
values. Explain why it does or does not.
5. “How will you feel after the decision is known?”

from THE BEST EVER Company with a better offer. You had interviewed months ago
and had heard nothing, so you began applying to other jobs. That’s how you received
the NICE Company offer. Whose offer are you turning down? – This is based off an
example of page 25 in Chapter 1.
Note: Remember the goal is use the CAM model to think about how to respond. There
is no need to craft an actual response email.
