The topic of this class is Contemporary Logistics and there has been no logistics issue more contemporary than the supply chain issues associated with COVID-19. Seaport congestion, delivery driver shortages, and government shutdowns are just a few of the pandemic’s consequences that have resulted in generational supply chain problems.
Your assignment is to write a research paper analyzing how the effects of COVID-19 have paralyzed so many parts of the global supply chain. You can choose the industries and items that interest you most. Provide a brief background, the nature and cause of the problems, and impacts on suppliers, manufacturers, and consumers. Provide your analysis of what actions have (and continue) to be taken to address to problem…and your evaluation of those actions. Include your own recommendations as appropriate. Relate your findings to specific topics we are covering in class. How many industries and items you focus on is up to you. Select enough to keep your analysis lively and interesting but not so many that you can’t provide sufficient detail for each.
A good rule-of-thumb for content is 10-12 double-spaced pages. Follow APA 7th edition guidelines regarding page format, citations, etc. Use and cite trustworthy news and academic sources; I recommend at least six.
