  1. DISCUSSION BOARD

  1. So do you think your email, web surfing and other transactions on the internet are private?
  2. Is the email you use at work yours, or the companies? Why?
  3. Could your future boss Google your name and come up with those pictures you posted on Facebook from your high school band trip?
  4. Should you be very careful about what you let go out over the Internet into cyberspace? Why?
  5. Have you ever thought about the lifespan of a digital communication on the Internet? What do you think the lifespan is?

Now this is my friend disscuion board and I have to reply her please send me my discussion board and please also write the reply .

This is my friend discussion board. I have to reply her .

. I don’t believe anything is truly private on the internet.  It’s no secret or coincidence why bathing suit ads, for (totally hypothetical) example, show up on my Facebook feed after having already ordered some off a secured site elsewhere. I’ve long subscribed to the fact that algorithms are probably making us all proverbial sheep in one tiny way or another, but since my biggest life choices are which bathing suits to buy this summer (again, as a totally hypothetical example) I’m not in fear of my safety or of being brainwashed in a dangerous manner. General Privacy? No. Does not exist on the world wide web. Truth be told I don’t even engage in politics and the like online because I don’t want my feeds to be swayed. Call me paranoid, Ironically, I guess it’s now also out there on the web.

  1. The email I use at work is a company email. I also belong to several group emails, which are designed for team visibility.  We all have company profiles and a personal company email is just part of that. I will say however, when I do have to use my personal email for correspondence my company ‘may’ not approve of, I use my data and not their WIFI.
  2. In short, No. I’m a late gen-xer, so I’ve been fortunate enough to have lived my life with one foot in both worlds. It would probably take a forensics team to do a deep dive on any dirty laundry I’ve willingly posted. I think I’ve always valued privacy so I don’t know that they’d find much.
  3. You should absolutely be careful about what  you post, or even search for that matter. Honestly anything you put down in writing is tracible.
  4. I’ve never thought of the lifespan of anything digital but I do know that probably everything out there is archived and therefore never truly dies.
