Most of us DID NOT KNOW that is how we get our seafood.
When the most sustainable form of whaling involved scaring the hell out of whales, forcing them to beach themselves, and then slitting their throats, I was completely done. I hope we were all thinking, “There has got to be a better way.”
What do you think a better way would involve? I made my pitch for small scale aquaponics farming/gardening where we grow and raise only what we are going to eat or only what our community is going to eat. That is about as sustainable as we are going to get, but everyone will not and cannot do that.
What do you think?
How can we eat seafood without killing off the ocean? Remember, the guy who had the right side of his body reconfigured by a shark said, once the ocean goes, we are next.
Should the government get involved more strenuously in regulating the fishing industry? How would that look?
Is it up to the government? Is it up to the consumer? What should happen here?
