In chapter 2 of our text by Carlson, we covered the structure and functions of the cells of the nervous system. One area mentioned in this chapter is the blood-brain barrier.
- What is the blood-brain barrier and why is it important? Are there disadvantages to the blood-brain barrier? Why or why not? Please provide examples to support your answer.
- Our complicated brain is responsible for all our abilities; evolving knowledge of research leads us to cells, axons and neurons with their functions and communication. How does the release of neurotransmitters modulate activity?
