Criteria for Success:
Performers and Location (50-100 words, 10%)
Who performed? Identify the ensemble, conductor, and soloists. Where was it performed? Describe the performance space and physical surroundings.
Composers and Titles (50-100 words, 10%)
What pieces were performed? Identify the names of composers, titles of works, and individual movements of each work. This is in addition to the program upload.
Objective Description of the Music (200-300 words, 40%)
Describe musical elements heard at the concert, such as, instrumentation, dynamics, texture, rhythm and tempo, form & relationships between movements. Note extremes or what is most striking. Describe how these elements work together?
Observations (100-200 words, 40%)
Describe your personal observations about the music and performance? Did you like individual pieces? Did you like the performers? What did you enjoy, or not enjoy? Has the experience changed your views in some way? Did you feel welcomed, or out of place? Here is where you can get REAL about your experience.
