Memo

Audience is your primary consideration in many types of nontechnical writing. You may choose either a one or two-page print or digital advertisement (due to the nature of this assignment, each ad needs to be a substantial one) found on the web, for two car makers, computer manufacturers, cell-phones, etc. For example, Lexus versus Toyota, iPhone versus Galaxy, Nike versus Adidas, etc.

In a memo to your instructor, contrast the audiences for the two ads according to things like sex, gender, age, economic means, hobbies, interests, leisure activities, etc. When choosing these ads make sure to focus on how the appeals to reason, emotion, and credibility are discussed or portrayed. IN contrasting the two audiences, consider the explicit information in the ads-the writing-as well as the implicit information-hidden persuaders such as background scenery, color,

lighting, angles, and the situation portrayed by any people

Photographed. Keep in mind that your purpose is to contrast the two audiences, not merely to describe the content of the ads or their designs. Along with your memo, provide the web address links to the online advertisements of the two products.
