  1. create a Timeline of the History of Jazz from its origins to 1955. 
  2. Your timeline must include the following:
    • Roots of Jazz – Blues, Ragtime, and Brass Bands.
    • The first three major style periods of Jazz – Early Jazz (New Orleans/Chicago), Swing, and Bebop
    • Musical Characteristics of each time period.  
    • Examples of performers and composers in each style (at least three for each).
    • Examples of recordings (at least one for each style). Please include a video or audio file.
