Question A:
Suggest an improvement project for your practice or healthcare organization that would improve patient safety or quality. What information would you like to have about your practice area that could be extracted using data mining strategies? Briefly explain how you would design an improvement project that would utilize the data mined to improve a process or a patient outcome. Before implementing the intervention(s) you’ve described in your improvement project, explain the importance of consulting with clinical experts. What are the ethical implications of data mining in improvement projects?

There is a strong link between informatics and evidence-based practice. Identify an evidence-based practice(s), how you know the practice is evidenced-based, how the best practice is incorporated into every day nursing practice, and a related policy (this could be a federal, state, or facility policy). Identify two examples of how informatics is used in relationship to the evidence-based practice you’ve described. Explain the importance of consulting with clinical experts before deviating from evidence-based protocols. What are the ethical implications of evidence-based practice?
