The purpose of this assignment is to review and understand basics of statistics by learning key terms.
Review and summarize the key terms of statistics; descriptive and inferential statistics, scales of measurement, types of variable, population and sample, population parameters and sample statistics.
- Define descriptive and inferential statistics. Focus on the difference between the two types of approach.
- Define population and sample. List typical parameters from population and sample statistics.
- Refer to Table 1.6 (textbook) and indicate the types of variable and the scale of measurement for each variable.
